Okay. This one is going to make your heart do that little squeeze thing.

Picture this. A loving mom. A grandma. A widow. A woman who has walked through things most people never should. And now? She is stepping into a brand new chapter with a second marriage.

She had always seen boudoir as one of those “bucket list” things. Beautiful. Empowering. For other people.

But this time, it was her turn.

What started as a Christmas surprise turned into something so much deeper. This session was not just about pretty photos. It was about healing. About courage. About realizing that happily ever after was not behind her. It was still ahead.

Now, her daughter-in-law has been a rockstar client of ours for years. I think she’s at 3 sessions now, actually! (She’s done a few model calls in the past, so her photos are on our page- any guesses on who?!) After her DIL’s session with us, Ms. V mentioned that she had always seen boudoir photography as a 'bucket list' kind of thing. She never was able to take the leap herself, but was RAVING about the photos she had seen!

Cue the magic of Christmas and Black Friday- her son and daughter-in-law banded together and surprised her with not just any gift, but the ULTIMATE gift… our full boudoir experience AND the Silver Collection! So not only was Ms. V all set for her empowering and uplifting experience, but she already had a product order so she could have that physical representation of her beauty and this amazing thing she did! After the holidays had passed, we finally got to chat with Ms. V and start planning her session. When she came in for her consult, y'all, she was as sweet as can be! We chatted, laughed, and she shared her life with me. One thing that really touched my heart was when she said that she’s never worn a wedding dress before, and that she was SO excited to! This is after losing her previous husband, going through that heartache that I can’t even bring myself to think about, and finally opening herself up to love again. And once finding that love, realizing that her happily ever after wasn’t behind her! She finally gets to wear the dress, and to feel that love again. Her story changed what was ‘just a dress’ into a symbol of healing and strength, and I had the idea that we include that in her session!

Now even though seeing her daughter-in-law’s photos is what started this beautiful journey, the two of them don’t necessarily share the same style. While her DIL’s outfit choices have been a bit more on the spicy side, Ms. V wanted something different- which gives me the perfect opportunity to remind you that boudoir isn’t a one-size-fits-all deal! While she loved her daughter's risque photos, she wanted something a tad different. This is the beauty of boudoir, folks – it’s all about YOU. Your personality, your comfort level, your spice. For Ms. V, we decided that a more romantic approach to her session was more true to her! Of course her wedding dress was perfect for this idea, so we did a bit of bridal-styled boudoir to kick things off.

We are so excited for her to present this album to her soon-to-be husband on their wedding day, but more than that, we’re even more excited for the rest of her journey. This incredible woman – a grandma, no less – showed herself (and the world!) that she's beautiful, sexy, and a force to be reckoned with. She’s showing us ALL that you can come through the most difficult hands that life can deal with grace. She’s reminding us that happiness isn’t finite, and that every stage of life is a chance to rediscover yourself. Whether you're 25, 55, 105, you’ve got that fire inside.

What I love most about this session is not just the album she will gift on her wedding day.

It is what it represents.

It represents a woman who chose to open her heart again.
It represents strength after loss.
It represents confidence at a stage of life where society tells women to shrink.

She did the opposite.

Whether you are 25, 55, or anywhere in between, that fire inside you does not go out. Sometimes it just needs to be reminded that it is still there.
